Mohammed al-Farah, the Political Bureau Member of Yemen’s Houthi Movement, has warned that Israel and the US might target Egypt, Pakistan and Turkey in near future in irder to drag them into regional conflict. According to the Houthi leader, such a move would certainly weaken these three countries.

Talking to the media on September 22, 2026, al-Farah stressed that the targeting of Iran by the enemies would not be limited to the borders of the Islamic Republic and the next efforts would be to target Egypt, Pakistan and Turkey. He claimed that Israel and the US would make such a move in order to prompt the three countries to directly join the Saudi military operations in Yemen.

al-Farah has advised Cairo, Islamabad and Ankara not to get involved in the ongoing Saudi-Houthi conflict. It may be noted that Riyadh recently urged its partners to assist the Kingdom militarily against the Ansar Allah Movement. The Houthis have already launched missile and drone attacks on Saudi Aramco facilities and fuel depots next to Riyadh’s international airport. On September 18 night, they struck the Saudi capital with ballistic missiles.

Referring to the position of Egypt, Pakistan and Turkey in the Islamic World, the senior Houthi official has stated that their power and influence could be an obstacle to the Zionist Regime‘s future plans for the region. Hence, Tel Aviv wants Egypt, Pakistan and Turkey to join the Houthi-Saudi conflict. al-Farah believes that such a scenario could lead to the erosion of capabilities, weakening and disintegration of the internal social fabric of these countries.

Interestingly, al-Farah has warned Cairo, Islamabad and Ankara soon after Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo. The Saudi Crown Prince’s visit to Egypt came just in the wake of an Iranian-backed militia attack on the key Saudi East-West pipeline (reportedly launched from Iraq). The Crown Prince and the Egyptian President mainly discussed the security scenario in West Asia. The Saudis have been asking all regional allies for support at a time when the internationally recognised Government of Yemen is rapidly losing ground to the Houthis.

Meanwhile, Washington DC has appeared to shrug its shoulders, staying on the sidelines so far. President Donald John Trump was reportedly ready to pull the trigger against the Houthis. However, he has changed his mind. Defence experts are of the opinion that Pakistan and Turkey may take actions against the Houthis on the basis of the recently-signed Mecca Defence Pact. They believe that Turkey’s new commitments to Saudi Arabia under the Defence Pact could increase the risk of Ankara being drawn into a confrontation with the Houthis. Such a move could have significant consequences for Turkish supply lines to the Horn of Africa.

Although Turkey has yet to ratify the pact, the continued Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia can make some form of confrontation possible. The involvement of Pakistan and Turkey in the Saudi-Houthi conflict may also trigger a full-scale regional war, which would likely further fuel the US-Iran confrontation and possibly bring in the Israelis.

Bigger conflict could also close Red Sea shipping. The Houthis have so far declared the Bab Al-Mandab Strait off limits to Saudi and Israeli-linked ships. However, the Yemeni rebel group could begin assaults on all international shipping at any moment, akin to the ongoing crisis in the Strait of Hormuz. As both the Iranians and the Houthis know that they hold this card, they could pull the trigger on the next potential round of escalation with the US-Saudi-Israeli axis.
