They Don’t Want Children To Survive

A UN Commission has mentioned in its latest report that Israel continues to commit genocide and other atrocities in Gaza in a deliberate manner. The report clearly stated: “Israeli authorities and security forces have deliberately targeted Palestinian children resulting in genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and also in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem and Israel.” According to the report, “The intense scale and systematic nature of the Israeli military operations have continued, resulting in unprecedented death, injury and trauma of Palestinian children.

The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry has claimed that at least 20,179 children lost their lives in Gaza, accounting for approximately 30% of the total deaths, and 44,143 were severely injured between October 2023 and October 2025 as a direct result of the hostilities. The Commission alleged that as Israel suspected civilians of being affiliated with Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups, it continued to use high-explosive weapons and bombs in densely populated residential areas, despite the increase in child deaths, even after the declaration of ceasefire. In other words, the Zionist Regime has deliberately targeted the Palestinian children.

The Palestinian children are also victims of starvation and loss of shelter. The report has claimed that severe physical, as well as mental, injuries, mass trauma, orphanhood, separation, disability, repeated displacements, starvation, and the collapse of the education and healthcare systems have erased their childhood and would continue to affect them in Gaza throughout their lives. This well-planned military operation is aimed at destroying the present and future generations of Palestinians as the Israelis have attacked the healthcare system and maternity services. The UN report has stated that severe malnutrition, systemic destruction of healthcare facilities and ongoing violence have caused a drastic spike in miscarriages, stillbirths, maternal mortality and low birth-weight infants. Even, Israeli security forces have used sexual violence against Palestinian children and adolescents as part of the collective shaming and oppression, entrenched within a prolonged, ethnic, gendered and intergenerational pattern of the Zionist occupation and hostilities.

Srinivasan Muralidhar, the Chair of the Commission, said: “The evidence shows that Palestinian children have been deliberately targeted and killed by the Israeli security forces. Even after the October 2025 ceasefire, children continue to be killed and seriously injured, with continued disregard by Israel for the ceasefire and for the protection owed to Palestinian children under international law.” He added: “Even if the bombs and guns fall silent in Gaza and West Bank, Palestinian children will not simply recover overnight. The destruction of their health, education and development is irreversible.” Muralidhar told the press: “The protection, care and survival of Palestinian children are inseparable from the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination. By targeting children, Israel is attacking the very capacity of the Palestinian people to exist and to determine their future.

According to the report, “Palestinian children have suffered immense psychological harm, having been stripped of any sense of safety and future. Mental harm is an intergenerational condition, producing a distinctive ‘occupied psyche’ in which the freedom to play, imagine, hope and develop an identity has been eroded.

As expected, Israel has denied allegations of genocide. Israel’s mission in Geneva has rejected the report, calling it “defamatory advocacy“. According to Tel Aviv, it was a “libelous sham” as the report ignored “the brutal tactics of Hamas“. Danny Danon, the Permanent Representative of Israel to the UN, told Fox News Digital: “This is not an investigative report. It is a political blood libel disguised as a UN document. This Commission reaches its conclusions before examining the facts and repeatedly publishes reports that serve one purpose only: to vilify Israel. Instead of addressing Hamas’ crimes, the October 7 massacre, the hostages and Hamas’ cynical use of children and civilians as human shields, the Commission has once again chosen to place Israel in the dock.

The US successfully brokered a ceasefire and phased peace framework between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas Movement that officially took effect on October 10, 2025. The agreement was based on a 20-point plan presented by US President Donald John Trump. However, Israel continues to carry out airstrikes in Gaza. Reports from the Palestinian Ministry of Health and Human Rights monitors, including UN agencies, corroborate that over 1,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza and hundreds of children have died in subsequent military operations following the ceasefire.
