Arab Nations Plan To Form Military Alliance
The Arab nations have sent a message of unity against Israel and almost all the Islamic countries in the world have joined the chorus this time. Reports suggest that the Arab and Gulf leaders held an emergency summit in Qatar on September 15, 2025 and berated the Zionist Regime over its recent attack on Hamas leaders in Doha, presenting a united response to the event that claimed the lives of five Hamas leaders and a Qatari security official on September 9 (2025). Even US President Donald John Trump expressed displeasure over the Israeli attack on friendly nation Qatar.
Following the attack, the heads of Arab and Islamic nations met in Doha on September 15 on an urgent basis. All member countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), including Azerbaijan (popularly known as a close ally of Israel), attended the summit.
Representatives of all the participating countries strongly condemned the genocide that has been carried out by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) in Gaza for the past couple of years. They also claimed that the Benjamin Netanyahu Administration planned to deliberately starve the people of Gaza in an attempt to eliminate them in a different manner. Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Prime Minister of Qatar, slammed Israel for trying to undermine the Gaza ceasefire efforts with its recent attack on Hamas leaders in Doha. He stressed that the strike was intended to sabotage peace talks, turning negotiations into a “part of the war“. In his opening remarks, Thani stated: “Whoever works diligently and systematically to assassinate the party with whom he is negotiating, intends to thwart the negotiations. Negotiations, for them, are merely part of the war.” According to the Qatari Prime Minister, although Netanyahu wants the entire Arab region to be under Israeli control, it will never be possible.

The Arab World has urged the global community to take swift and strong action against the Netanyahu Government for launching attacks on Gaza, Iran, Qatar, Lebanon and Yemen without any provocations. Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian proposed forming a new committee to stand united against Israel at the UN, saying: “We should stand up to these threats, reiterating that any further crimes cannot be tolerated, and shall not remain silent towards what is unfolding now in Gaza or what has taken place in Beirut or Yemen.” He added: “It is possible that Islamic countries cut their ties with this fake regime and maintain unity and cohesion as much as possible.”

US Secretary of State Marco Antonio Rubio visited Tel Aviv on September 15 to hold talks with Prime Minister Netanyahu. As expected, the Arab nations strongly criticised Rubio for holding talks with the Israeli Prime Minister, stating that he could have attended the emergency meeting in Qatar.
Meanwhile, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani has called on Islamic countries to form a military alliance to counter the Israeli aggression, stressing: “The recent Israeli actions in Gaza and Qatar demand a collective response.” He also said that the September 9 Israeli airstrike on Doha “exceeded all limits and violated every humanitarian principle” as it was “a shocking breach of international law” and a reminder that “Israel’s actions threaten the security of the entire region“.

Speaking at the summit, al-Sudani further said: “The current conditions call for moving from condemnation to coordinated collective action. A joint Arab-Islamic Committee should convey our position to the UN Security Council, UN General Assembly, the European Union (EU) and other international fora.” He added: “We have a real opportunity to send a clear message confirming that the security of our countries is not a matter of negotiation. Failure to deter Israel would lead to further instability and will not achieve security for any party.”
It may be noted that the IDF attacked not only Gaza or Qatar, but a total of six countries, including Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Tunisia, in 72 hours in the second week of September 2025. Tel Aviv has made an attempt to justify its action by claiming that several Hamas leaders are hiding in the Bizerte Lagoon area of Tunisia.
