Surveillance From The Space!
India and the US have joined hands in order to counter China’s aggression!
New Delhi and Washington recently signed a historic Communications Compatibility and Security Agreement (COMCASA) that would allow the two countries to share information regarding surveillance from the space. The senior Indian officials claimed that India and the US would monitor the secret activities of the terror outfits and the nuclear powerful nations through satellites. They also said that the two friendly nations would exchange not only information, but also images received from the satellites. Then, the Indian and American defence experts will analyse those information and prepare a joint strategy to counter the threat.

Officials of the two countries signed the COMCASA after the inaugural 2+2 dialogue in the Indian capital on September 6. Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held high-level talks with their US counterparts Mike Pompeo and Jim Mattis, respectively, mainly to discuss bilateral defence, trade and economic partnerships.
Defence experts are of the opinion that the accord will help the US supply more weapons and defence equipment, including predator Guardian drones, to the South Asian nation. They expressed hope that the US might let India continue to import Iranian crude and to purchase S-400 missile system from Russia. S-400 is an anti-aircraft weapon system developed in the 1990s by Russia’s Almaz Central Design Bureau as an upgrade of the S-300 family.
In the presence of her American guests, Swaraj said that COMCASA would strengthen the Indo-US ties in various fields. Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Pompeo expressed serious concern over Beijing’s growing influence in the South China Sea region, saying: “Both India and the US should continue to ensure the freedom of the seas and the skies.” He further said: “India’s leadership in the world supports our shared democratic values regionally and globally. We also recognise the increasing connectivity between the Indian and Pacific Oceans, renaming US Pacific Command to the US Indo-Pacific Command.”
Both Swaraj and Pompeo claimed that the 2+2 meeting was very effective and it would help both India and the US ensure peace in the Asia-Pacific region.
