The Boris Johnson Government in London may face a Referendum on Scottish Independence at any point of time… It is hence, 10, Downing Street is planning to send Prince Edward – the youngest son of the Queen – and his wife Sophie to Edinburgh in order to pacify the people, rather smoothen quite a few ruffled feathers, over there! The PM wants the Earl and Countess of Wessex to stay in Edinburgh. It is to be noted that the couple is currently staying at Bagshot Park in Surrey, 18km south of the Queen’s Windsor Palace. As per the plan, the couple will stay at Holyrood Palace, the Queen’s Official Residence in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, experts have expressed doubt about the effectiveness of Prince Edward and Sophie in saving the United Kingdom! The name Edward, amongst the Royal Family members, is by no means a popular one in the northern part of the country. King Edward I (June 17/18, 1239 – July 7, 1307) was called the Hammer of the Scots for his repeated attacks on Scotland; and, Robert the Bruce, the King of Scots, defeated his son Edward II at the Battle of Bannockburn in June 1314, confirming the re-establishment of an Independent Scottish Monarchy.

Every year, the Queen hosts a party at the Holyrood Palace during the summer, and spends 12 weeks at Balmoral Castle in Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire. Four days before the 2014 Referendum, the Queen had reportedly told a well-wisher: “Well, I hope the Scots will think very carefully about the future.” And, the people of Scotland decided to stay in the UK. However, the scenario has changed in the last six years. As per a latest survey, Scotland has expressed the desire to be Independent. Prime Minister Johnson still believes that Prince Edward can save the UK from breaking up…
