All Terrorists Are Intruders!

Believe it or not! Of the four people arrested in the US for their alleged involvement in terrorist activities, three are born overseas. President Trump administration went on to publish a report on a similar note recently.
Since assuming the chair, the president has been trying hard to make America terror-free. He asked the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Justice Department to co-ordinate and co-operate with each other in a better way. However, the DHS did not mention in its latest report how many people were involved in terrorism and what have been their places of origin. And the lone India-born individual in the list is Khaleel Ahmed, who was sentenced in 2010 to more than eight years in prison for providing material support to terrorists.

President Trump has already taken a tough stance on the issue of immigration. He recently announced that foreigners would be allowed to stay in America only on the basis of ‘merit’. The president is also ready to stop ‘chain migration’, the practice to land in the US with the help of a family member who has a Green Card. Washington has made clear that foreigners would have to proof their skills, talents and ability to speak in English before getting visas. A senior US government official, who wished to remain anonymous, said that migration would be allowed on the basis of skills needed for the development of the American society. The main purposes of the move are to ensure jobs for US nationals and safeguard the country from terrorism.
As per the report, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement removed around “1,716 aliens with national security concerns” between September 11, 2001 and December 31, 2016. In 2017, the DHS had 2,554 encounters with individuals on the terrorist watch list travelling to the US.
