Media Return To Soundless Era
The media gradually return to the soundless era.
Nowadays, soundless contents are being supplied to the social media, such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, which can only be visualised by us. Internet users can receive the messages only by viewing those contents. Indeed, such an attempt is significant in the era of sound.
It is difficult for us to increase the volume levels on our Android phones or laptops in public places, as it creates problems for others. So, majority of the people use headphones while watching movies, songs and advertisements on their smartphones or laptops.

Very recently, the electronic media have made an attempt to use images or pictures as a medium of communication. Soundless or non-verbal contents are good not only for our ears, but also for the people around us. However, we can’t call the development a breakthrough, as the media were soundless (or silent) at the beginning and the use of sound came later. So, it can be said that the circle is complete. The ratio is still low, but the potential is huge.
We have to admit that the application of silence is a necessary and timely step. As people are very aware of their own rights in the modern world, a person’s contents should be in her/his own circle. For all of us, it’s better not to invade others’ spaces unnecessarily.

At the same time, we should also admit that the modern system has a drawback. Sometimes, we fail to realise that there is a world outside our view. As we have learnt how to submerge ourselves in our ‘own’ world, we have lost the connection with our surroundings. We forget the fact that it isn’t possible to live a proper social life without that connection. It’s also not possible to understand what a helpless person wants to say, if we don’t look at her/him. Of course, there is no obligation to make it possible. It’s a person’s personal preference whether to keep in touch with others.

But the question is whether we isolate ourselves by separating us from the environment (and also from the society). Sometimes, it becomes necessary to maintain silence in public places. But, if we concentrate only on silent contents, then we might lose our feelings of dislike, resentment, anger and sorrow. It is important for us to realise that a person is not a part of a smartphone or a laptop or a computer.
Only by looking at the images or silent contents, we might invite a feeling of loneliness or emptiness. Then, the loneliness will cause us to suffer and we will lose interest even in contents.
