The SARS Coronavirus was planned to be developed as a Biological Weapon five years ago! A leaked Chinese document has revealed the shocking information. Weekend Australian, the Saturday edition of The Australian daily, recently received the leaked document according to which the Chinese scientists had reportedly discussed about weaponising the Coronavirus in 2015. In other words, the Chinese military scientists had prepared the entire plan four years before the Pandemic rocked the world. Perhaps, they had realised that SARS Coronavirus was basically a new type of genetic weapon that could be artificially transformed into a deadly virus!

The Australian requested Robert Potter, a Cyber Security Specialist, to verify authenticity of the leaked Chinese document. He said that the document was definitely not fake. “We reached a high confidence conclusion that it was genuine… It’s not fake, but it`s up to someone else to interpret how serious it is,” Potter stressed. He added: “It emerged in the last few years… they (China) will almost certainly try to remove it now it’s been covered.“

Weekend Australian has informed readers that the name of the leaked document is The Unnatural Origin of SARS and New Species of Man-Made Viruses as Genetic Bioweapon. It is stated there, in a nutshell, that as the Chinese researchers believe that the Third World War would be fought with biological weapons, they planned to develop the SARS Coronavirus as a deadly virus.

Peter Jennings, the Executive Director of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI), is of the opinion that the leaked Chinese document is like a “smoking gun“. “I think this is significant because it clearly shows that Chinese scientists were thinking about military application for different strains of the Coronavirus and thinking about how it could be deployed,” he told the press. Jennings further said: “It begins to firm up the possibility that what we have here is the accidental release of a pathogen for military use.” According to the ASPI boss, the document has revealed why China has been so reluctant for outside investigations into the origins of COVID-19. “If this was a case of transmission from a wet market, it would be in China’s interest to co-operate… we’ve had the opposite of that,” insisted Jennings.

It may be noted that Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro had promoted the Conspiracy Theory regarding the origin of the SARS Coronavirus, even before the Weekend Australian received the leaked Chinese document. On May 5 (2021), President Bolsonaro reportedly claimed that China could have developed the pathogen in a laboratory and disseminated it as “biological warfare” for economic gain!

Speaking at an event earlier this month, the Brazilian President expressed doubts over the origin of Coronavirus, saying: “Are we not facing a new war?” He, too, blasted Beijing for opposing the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) decision to send a team of experts to the Chinese city of Wuhan and investigate the roots of the pathogen that had rocked the world in early 2020. Bolsonaro argued that while most of the world experienced a steep decline in their economy because of the unprecedented and prolonged shutdowns of businesses, China declared a 2.3% rise in its GDP or roughly USD 14.7 trillion in 2020 (as per Wind Information data). The Chinese Economy, still, has the potential to surpass the US’ as the world’s top economy by 2026.

Meanwhile, Dominic Dwyer, a WHO expert, has claimed that the Laboratory Leak Theory is untrue. Dwyer, an Australian doctor who had visited Wuhan as a part of the WHO team, recently wrote a first-person account in which he explained why the origin of the SARS Coronavirus was unlikely to be either the seafood market in the city or leaked from a Wuhan lab. He defied all the major Conspiracy Theories, stating that they had found no evidence of Coronavirus antibodies at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Instead, the Chinese researchers were working on the RaTG13 virus at that time. However, he admitted that all scientists had a genetic sequence for the deadly virus, although they had not been able to grow in culture.

“We spoke to the scientists there. We heard that scientists’ blood samples, which are routinely taken and stored, were tested for signs they had been infected. No evidence of antibodies to the Coronavirus was found. We looked at their biosecurity audits. No evidence,” wrote Dr Dwyer.

It seems that the Blame Game shall go on till the Scientists come out with a permanent solution to tackle the deadly virus, as it is seen that Conspiracy Theories, omnipresent in traditional and modern societies, tend to span demographic strata and political differences, leaving people enamoured by them. Oddly, many Conspiracy Theories are harmless and may even be entertaining, but the ones related to medical and public health hazards can be particularly dangerous for the individual and collective well‐being. It is in particular this second category, which includes misinformation and Conspiracy Theories related to COVID‐19, which is likely one of the most significant Pandemics of our lifetime.
